Kabinet Mirage Band specializes in making music that enhances theater and circus performances, as well as film scores, playing a colorful palette of genres. Diverse influences merge into a musical narrative that appeals to both the soul and the senses; unveiling sounds of oriental mysticism and blooming passion, of charming modernism and nostalgic naivety, of enchanting creatures and faraway lands.

The ensemble ranges from 5 to 12 musicians, allowing them to tailor their line-up to the specific needs and preferences of their clients and to adapt to the conditions of each event/performance. Their instrumental music is characterised by complex arrangements, expressive improvisations and evocative atmospheres. With a unique sonic palette, the band seamlessly blends elements of fusion jazz, rock, world music, swing and cinematic soundscapes to create an immersive musical experience. Their live performances are a celebration of music that takes the audience on a dreamlike journey. In addition to their music, Kabinet Mirage Band also offer the opportunity to integrate exciting circus acts into their concerts, creating a unique experience for the audience.

The band is led by Ibon Goitia, who adapts the ensemble and instrumentation to the needs of each performance, preparing a repertoire of original and/or arranged music. Thanks to an elaborate system of hand signs, he is able to communicate harmonic, rhythmic and structural changes instantly, adding a lot of freshness and magical moments to the show. This tool is particularly useful in circus shows, where interactions with the audience, unexpected events and changes during the acts require a good ability to react from the musicians.

FABULARIO

Fabulario is a compilation of musical stories that celebrates the power of imagination, creativity and our world’s cultural diversity. It was recorded in Berlin in 2023 by Kabinet Mirage Band, the musical dimension of Kabinet Mirage.

In this album, Ibon Goitia presents the fruits of his extensive and ongoing research into the theatricality of music. He explores how music is intricately connected to our imagination, capable of igniting the subconscious, and turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Ultimately, music has the power to craft immersive atmospheres and breathe life into every moment.
